Beautiful Everyday Ladies in Their Forties Turning on The Style

Posted in Beautiful Women with tags , , , , , , on November 12, 2011 by AMPnews

It was a real pleasure to work with Bev Andrews, Mandy Jenner and Kim Balding all three ladies in their 40′s / 50. The exciting Norfolk Roses Calendar was masterminded by Bev Andrews to raise cash for The Wish Foundation that looks after children that are very sick and seek to fulfill their dreams/wishes. I would like to thank Bev for making me aware of this worthwhile charity.

After I researched the charity I immediately knew that I wanted to help out with photography and direcection. The challenge  was on to work with three ladies in their 40′s/50, two of them hadn’t done modelling before and the whole calendar was to be shot in a day! In over two decades of being in the industry I knew only too well this kind of job takes over two weeks at least. We were certainly going to be working against the clock.

I’m overjoyed at the results and for the ladies that put 100% into the project. It proves there is no age limit in beauty and it doesn’t stop at main stream stereotyped modelling. I thoroughly enjoyed working with people from ordinary walks of life that wanted to give it a go. We had lots of fun making the calendar and used landmarks from the beautiful North Norfolk coast as our scenic backdrop.

To order and buy calendars, please contact Bev through her email: – bevandrews@ic24.net.

Special thanks to the Sea Marge Hotel, Overstrand, Norfolk for location base.

International glamour star, Polly Guy

Popular television programme ‘Come Dine With Me’ visits Norwich this week. The show features four home chefs that will be aiming to win the £1,000 prize and claim the host with the most crown. The episode will be aired on Channel 4, Friday, August 5 at 8pm. International glamour girl, Polly Guy will be turning up the heat against a confident Sam Smith, nutritionist Caroline Seaman and bank manager and part time DJ Richard Pearce. Polly, from Berg Apton, South Norwich said she was inspired to go on the show to try to change the unfair stereotype image of glamour models. She said “I’m a great fan of the show and I know it has a large global following, it’s on all the time, and I always thought I would enjoy being a contestant. You go on hoping that you will get along with the others have a bit of fun and with the added bonus of possibly winning a thousand pounds”

The pressure was on for Polly as soon as it was announced she was on the show, immediately thrown into the spotlight as the “Wild card” but hopes she will come out well in the programme. She said: “I am nervous seeing it I suppose because at the end of the day it’s the edit departement that decides what goes on show” Silvestri photographic studios of Norwich provided the location for a hot lingerie shoot to introduce Norfolk’s glamour cook and PR man Andreas from Amber Models moved in to snap up the images with top photographer Stefania. Andreas explained that he had worked with Polly for over a period of years and that this will be a show not to be missed. He said: “Polly will see this as a stage, she’s a very intelligent young lady but there may be fireworks”

The 29 year old stunner said she was under no illusions why she was selected so she is certainly out to prove that beauty and brains can be a winning combination, be it against all the odds. The show last visited Norwich in 2008, those that took part then were Hairdresser, David Nights, Wendy Holdsworth, winner Seamus Farrelly, and Zara Davies, from Cromer.

Hot Mikado Sassy Comedy Hit At The Norwich Playhouse

Posted in Events with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 21, 2011 by AMPnews

Hot Mikado Sassy Comedy Hit

Hot Mikado is a musical comedy based on Gilbert and Sullivan’s comic operetta The Mikado. However, this reworked version usually has the purists running for the door! Gone are the familiar Japanese settings. This is late 1930’s when the sounds of jazz and swing could be heard in the famous Cotton Club.

The story is the same, flirting is punishable by death, young Nanki-Poo has run away from home rather than marry an older women and the Lord High Executioner is still looking for someone to execute. Revived and taken on tour recently by Craig Revel Horwood, this is a show that doesn’t take itself seriously. This is witty comedy with a musical score that will take your breath away. Imagine the “Three little maids” as a sassy, sexy Andrew’s Sisters number and you’ll begin to get a flavour of what this is all about.

NNTTG is a NODA award winning company that has a wealth of talent so, if you like your comedy to be camp, your harmonies to be close and your tap dancing to be quick then this is a show not to be missed.

Cromer and Sheringham Crab and Lobster Festival 2011 Will Be A Norfolk Hit

Posted in Events with tags , , , , , , , on January 26, 2011 by AMPnews

Here I am, pictured with top PR lady, Kate Royall and popular councilor, Hilary Thompson

The best thing about my town, Cromer, on the North Norfolk coast of the UK, is that community values and working as a team is still evident. It was a joy to attend the launch party celebrating Cromer and Sheringham’s second food festival. Last years debut event was a great success, raising money for various charities and providing food demonstrations by some top chefs and local restaurateurs. The two towns came alive with, food song and dance, so I’m looking forward to a repeat in May when the festival kicks off. It will run over a weekend 20 -22nd of May and I’m on the list to demonstrate a Greek dish using Lobster or Crab, one of our towns fresh produce.

The Cromer town crier and I at Cromer and Sheringham Crab and Lobster Festival launch.

The launch last Thursday was a great success and I had a wonderful time, It began with speeches by the organizers, chefs and officials and rounded of with a buffet. I managed to take some photographs so I would like to share a couple on here with you together with an audio video recording of the speeches. What impressed me the most was the harmony displayed by everyone working together towards one goal. Please take the time to see the video, it will give a more detailed account about this extraordinary event. The website is also worth a visit as I have only scratched the surface here.
